HISTORY
Following this success, in 2007 Nera Kritis moved on to produce classic water packaging, creating a broad range of products (0,33lt, 0,5lt, 0,75lt, 1lt, 1,5lt,10lt,12,5lt). The company quickly won over the public, since its presence had spread throughout almost all of Greece.
In 2011, continuing its efforts for innovation and differentiation from the competition, it created the Summer Collection 0.5lt series, comprising of colorful bottles and caps which enjoyed great success among consumers, especially in summer.
In 2012, Nera Kritis innovated on a worldwide level by reaching out to child consumers with the creation of the kids series ‘Neraki’ (little water) comprising of colorful 0.33lt animal-shaped water bottles. This series was awarded at the SIAL Paris innovation 2012 and its exporting activity was launched.
In 2014, Nera Kritis entered a strategic partnership with the internationally renowned company Walt Disney with the creation of a new bottle line comprising of 8 Disney characters. These products were initially sold abroad and were then made available on the Greek market.
Nowadays, having enriched its range with additional collection product, such as the Cretan Minotaur bottle series and the Sport series comprising of sports bottles, it has managed to establish itself on the Greek market, gaining consumer confidence while it exports its products to 24 foreign countries.
In 2022, the company launched the H2WOW Kids series, further enriching its product range with designs specifically dedicated to children's hydration. The series features the favorite heroes of our little friends.
In 2022, always aiming to reduce plastic and protect the environment, the company created the bottle with the least plastic in the Greek market.

Nera Kritis SA started operating in 2003 with their exploitation of the white mountains of Crete, one of the cleanest springs in Greece. Taking full advantage of its 30-year experience and expertise in bottle manufacturing, it created the globally innovative 10lt disposable bottle for water dispensers. Nera Kritis SA began its export activity in 2013 and today has an active presence in major international chains across 34 countries.
The company’s export department is made up of specialized professionals with extensive experience in exports and managing related processes, from customer service and support to the final delivery of products in the destination country. After participating in international exhibitions and being awarded for its innovative 0.33-liter bottle series “My Water” at SIAL PARIS 2012, Nera Kritis gained widespread recognition and attracted interest from every corner of the world. As a result, this specific product now records sales of thousands of bottles per country. The company’s forward-thinking approach, focused on differentiation and innovation, has contributed to the creation of a diverse range of unique bottles. Prospective customers can choose and customize their order based on the bottle’s color, size, and shape, as well as cap design. They also have the opportunity to acquire personalized bottles and labels featuring their own brand. In 2024, Nera Kritis turned a new page and proudly reintroduced itself as a natural mineral water, adopting the name of the source from which it all begins: THERISO
Theriso Water Company has established itself as one of the leading water bottlers in Greece, with state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure.
The company’s main production plant spans 11,000 m² in Varypetro, Chania, blending cutting-edge technology with traditional Cretan water. In addition, the company operates two warehouses in Athens (Acharnes and Korydallos), as well as two branches in Greece (Oinofyta and Chios), thereby expanding its product distribution network. In 2018, the company enhanced its operations with the acquisition of the Hydria water plant in Loutraki, adding another premium source of water to its portfolio. In 2019, it further strengthened its capabilities by opening a new bottling facility in Axioupoli, Kilkis, boosting its overall production capacity. The company employs 240 dedicated and specialized staff members who ensure the highest quality of products and excellent customer service. With facilities exceeding 40,000 m², it ranks among the top 3 water bottlers in Greece based on revenue for 2023. Its production capacity exceeds 120,000 bottles per hour, allowing the company to meet the increasing demand both in the Greek market and abroad. The company’s storage facilities cover more than 20,000 m², ensuring proper storage and distribution of its products across the country and internationally through its agents. Nera Kritis Thériso continues to lead the way in sustainability and green transformation with the development of the world’s first 6×1.5lt bottled water packaging without plastic shrink film. This innovative packaging, set to be launched in Q1 2025, provides a 100% sustainable alternative by replacing traditional plastic film with paper, significantly reducing plastic usage and the environmental footprint. The company has also created the bottle with the least plastic in the Greek market, reinforcing its commitment to environmental protection. As part of its sustainability efforts, Nera Kritis Thériso has installed 32,000 m² of solar panels on the roofs of its facilities, with 38% of the energy used in the factory coming from renewable sources (RES). These actions have contributed to a reduction of 1,428 tons of CO2 emissions, supporting the company’s strategy for a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.
